Please help us in extending a HUGE thank you to all veterans of Troy, including those of the VFW who were here with us just this morning.
These heroes showed up for us on this snowy morning to not only share their stories with our students, but to congratulate & thank them, too, for their contributions to the VFW's 'Voice of Democracy' & 'Patriot's Pen' scholarship competitions. On a day when the spotlight was for them, these selfless individuals chose to share it, proving once more what amazing role models they are.
Thank you, again, veterans of Troy & the VFW for all that you have done - for your courage, bravery, & sacrifice, & for all that you continue to still do.
(Patriot's Pen winners, left-to-right: Luke Campbell, Kyleigh Johnson, & Caleb Kreutzer - Congratulations!!)

Good morning!
If you are headed our way this morning for the Veterans Assembly, drive safe; the assembly starts in the high school auditorium at 8:15 AM, & then light breakfast pastries will be served in the elementary school gym at 9:00 AM.
& Just a reminder, students who went on the FVCC trip today will need a ride home this afternoon, as their bus will arrive back after school has let out.

Check out these awesome pictures taken by Miss Amanda from Wednesday, when she & Miss Mel took the Transitional Kindergarten class on a field trip. They were given the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at our neighborhood grocery store, Watson's Market. After their tour, the students went back to their classroom to make pumpkin pie, which those lucky little ones finally got to eat yesterday afternoon.
Thank you, Watson's Market, for hosting Miss Mel's class!

REMINDER: The 1st Quarter Awards assembly will be held at W.F. Morrison Elementary School today from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.

ATTN: Next week on Monday, GEAR UP and the high school counseling office are hosting an informational session for our senior students & their parents. Assistance will be offered for those wishing to create an FSA ID, which is needed in order to apply for financial assistance. Specifically, you will need to create your FSA ID 3-5 days in advance, so this is a prime opportunity to get everything in order. If you are unable to make it to this session, please reach out to our high school counselor, Ms.Henderson, at ahenderson@troyk12.org, or our GEAR UP coordinator, Mrs.Graves, at jgraves@troyk12.org
We hope to see you Monday night!

All are welcome to attend!

ATTN: For the next Friday Fun Day, students have asked to learn how to crochet. However, we do not have someone on our staff with the expertise to teach them. So, we are turning to you - our community, for help.
Can you crochet basic & simple patterns/designs? Or do you perhaps know someone who can? If you answered yes, please contact us by phone or email at osmurkowski@troyk12.org, as our next Friday Fun Day will be November 17th - the day to crochet!
